On Friday, October 4th, Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity held a celebration for the progress of 32 Ward Street, Hartford, CT.

Construction of 32 Ward Street began in the spring of 2013 partnership with The Travelers Insurance Company, The US Department of Housing and Urban Development and The City of Hartford. This area’s low homeownership rate, modest family income levels, and need for affordable housing make this neighborhood an ideal site for this project.

The event featured Honorable Pedro Segarra, Mayor of the City of Hartford, Reverend Joel Cruz, Sr., House of Praise and Worship, as well as Melvyn Colon, SINA’s Executive Director. After a prayer everyone had the opportunity to sign the wall.

Right down the street on June 19th, SINA celebrated an open house for 4 multi-family buildings now on sale on 41-45 and 47-49 Wolcott Street (corner of Ward and Wolcott). Click here to read more about these houses. Prospective buyers can contact Re/Max Realtor, Lesbia Hernandez at (860) 209-4895.
